Board updates: 2024 street project progress, Victory Park work and new entrance signs

Engineering staff told trustees that work on the 2024 street project is underway. Rock Roads has completed surface replacement on Lorraine and Bonnie and installed a speed table on New Milford School Road; the project also includes minor base repairs and shoulder work. Engineer Adam Bunge noted coordination is ongoing to schedule detention-pond grading and to notify affected homeowners prior to work.
The board also discussed Victory Park design and removals. DPI Construction was awarded the Victory Park project and supplied a quote for additional tree removal to open more usable park space. Trustees approved the DPI additional tree removal quote of $10,096.45. Separately, the Rockford Park District requested a pause on path work in areas they consider prairie until they review planting plans.
On village signage, C.E.S. coordinated with FastSigns and IDOT to replace two existing village signs within IDOT right-of-way; FastSigns would provide three signs in total and IDOT has approved sign permits. The board approved the updated FastSigns quote, increasing the cost from $23,266.56 to $24,768.12.
