Board to issue RFP for architectural and engineering services; seeks two board members for review committee

Miss Mulheffer (S9) reviewed an RFP schedule for architectural and engineering services to support the division's next capital plan. Staff plans to issue the solicitation immediately, accept questions through Aug. 14, receive proposals by Aug. 28, evaluate proposals the week of Aug. 31 and interview finalists in early September, with a recommendation to the board expected Oct. 1.
She asked the board to consider appointing two members to serve on a five-member review committee (two board members, three staff). Board member S6 volunteered to serve and the chair and S6 said they will coordinate to review proposals in the week of Aug. 31 using hard copies and an evaluation matrix. Mulheffer clarified the board does not need to approve the RFP itself because it does not obligate funds; the board's approval would occur when staff returns with a recommended contract award.
