GAP marks 37 years and reports growing summer and fall enrollment

Kelsey Loveseth, GAP board president, and Stacy Zervas, GAP director, told the Brookings School District 05-1 board that the Great After School Place is celebrating its 37th year of partnership with the district and continuing to expand program capacity.
"We served 266, just under 300, students for the summer," Zervas said, and the presenters said fall registration currently sits "just under 300 at 282" with registrations still open. Loveseth said GAP now runs five sites, including Dakota Prairie, and provides kindergarten and elementary after-school and summer programs across the district.
The presenters emphasized that GAP has met multiple accreditation standards and now operates under additional regulations. Loveseth invited the board to meet with GAP's board to strengthen the long-term partnership, and both speakers noted GAP's role as a regional model for after-school programming. The board chair thanked them and moved on to regular business.
