S6, a district staff member, told the board the district is replacing its legacy phone system with a cloud-based solution and expects installation in June. "We finally have come to a, agreement for a new phone system, a new company called Go to, that they're gonna install a cloud phone system, in June," S6 said, and added the existing system is approximately 15 years old and is obsolete.
Staff said they vetted several vendors and selected the solution based on peer district recommendations and an end-of-year pricing arrangement. S6 said the upfront cost "is gonna come from the safety grant, I believe," and the district will confirm final funding sources before procurement. The new system will include desktop phone apps and a messaging integration intended to centralize communications.
