On July 14, 2026, the Bisbee Mayor and Council unanimously approved Resolution R-26-20 appointing City Manager Ashlee Coronado as the designated applicant agent for the city with the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (AZ DEMA). Councilmember Anna Cline moved the resolution and Councilmember Pete Skinner seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Ms. Coronado told the council the designation allows a named official to sign grant applications for AZ DEMA programs but does not commit the council to accept any award; any grant funding would still require subsequent Council approval. Mayor Ken Budge said the designation supports efforts to secure phased water infrastructure funding in partnership with Arizona Water to replace aging lines and to improve fire protection in Old Bisbee. The meeting adjourned at 5:22 p.m.; the council noted the next meeting would be the following Tuesday, election night.
