County commissioner Robert Swainston updated the council on the Franklin County–led community center project, saying they are "hoping to have the paving done in the parking lot by mid October." He added that electricians must finish work so basketball standards can be hung and that staff aim to have courts playable by January.
Council members discussed developing a memorandum of understanding for use of the courts and how scheduling and maintenance will work. The commissioner encouraged coordination with local organizations and the city to finalize use agreements.
