Veteran-run Boots on the Ground serves free Saturday breakfasts in South Bronx

"We are there every Saturday," Maranetz said, noting the program serves people of all ages and abilities and is positioned as an inclusive community meal.
Maranetz described the program’s roots in her own recovery from substance use and chronic homelessness and credited staff and community partners for supporting the outreach. She said Boots on the Ground is working with sponsors including Boost Mobile and Charles Pan Fried Chicken and that volunteers and funders can contact the group via Instagram (boots on ground nyc / boots on ground inc) or direct message to help scale weekday and borough outreach.
