The Village of New Milford board voted unanimously on Nov. 12 to raise the clerk's base salary to $900 per month and to pay an additional $60 for each special meeting or Zoning Board of Appeals meeting the clerk attends. The motion, made by Trustee Deanna Rodgers and seconded by Trustee Eileen Owens, carried with all members present voting in favor.
Clerk Jessica Lang reported that accounts receivable and payable are up to date and recorded. Board President Timothy H. Owens introduced the salary proposal; the board also approved a recurring annual 3% increase effective May 1 of each year. The board did not provide in-meeting detail on the ordinance or budget line that will fund the change; the immediate outcome is an approved personnel change to be reflected in payroll going forward.
