At the board meeting, Chuck of French presented detailed drawings for the high-school additions that will house a shared CTE lab and a culinary teaching restaurant. He described a high-bay lineman area with six poles, an overhead trolley system to move the poles, and a mezzanine so instructors can observe safely from above. On design rationale he said the culinary space "backs up all to your kitchen over here," explaining the flow between carts, the classroom and the bistro service area.
Chuck also addressed safety and glazing: "So So we'll be using security film on everything just like we do right now," he said when asked how the large glass curtain walls would be protected. He described punched windows with security film at lower heights, metal panels above, and a brick veneer base where possible; consultants noted matching existing masonry can be difficult and that a brick rep has been engaged to source samples.
