The superintendent presented preliminary enrollment materials to the Boyne City Public Schools Board, saying the district had expected to be ‘‘10 to 12 students down’’ but current figures are higher than projected. Board members asked where new students live; the superintendent said the ISD will provide detailed origin data after count day but flagged that a new bus stop at Fox Run and a 24% school-of-choice rate may be influencing patterns.
The district also noted a small increase in homeschool registrations (seven reported in the chart) and an unusually large share of out-of-state transfers compared with recent years. The superintendent said staff will update the board after count day and when the ISD provides the origin breakdown.
