Lake Forest student leaders tout VoxBox feedback and community drives

Student body president Josie Irvin and vice president Ethan Farrell told the Lake Forest Community High School District 115 Board of Education that student council activities this spring included a food drive benefiting North Chicago Community Partners, teacher superlatives and a campus ‘‘pop-a-shot’’ competition run by Freshman Student Council.
“We did a food drive for the whole school, so all the benefits went to North Chicago Community Partners,” Josie Irvin said. Farrell and Irvin also described VoxBox, a student-feedback platform the council piloted this year; the students asked the board to include VoxBox questions and summary results in the board’s weekly update so trustees and the broader community can see what students are saying. The report noted student leaders hope future councils will continue VoxBox and expand community outreach.
