The superintendent (Speaker 5) reviewed concepts for a larger facilities and athletic-complex project and said early architect estimates for in‑ground work were on the order of $3,600,000. She emphasized prioritizing underground conduit, piping and water so future additions (lights, wiring) would not require re‑excavation.
Board members and staff discussed property-line adjustments and easements to gain a narrow sliver of land adjacent to the proposed complex and raised the possibility of in‑kind community contributions for earthwork. The superintendent said detailed designs and contractor pricing remained pending from Architects West and that the district would aim to phase work where possible to reduce near‑term cost pressure.
