The superintendent (Speaker 5) presented three playground proposals ranging from about $84,000 to $160,000 and said the district received a grant that would cover 50% of structure costs. "50% will cover 50% of your playground upgrade," the superintendent said, and reported the district had already received a $10,000 pledge and could use roughly $15,000 from an old ASB account.
Speaker 5 said the district expects shipping, tax and installation to be added to structure costs, and that the vendor estimated installation could be done by the end of February. The superintendent said applying to the Good Shepherd Foundation could bring in additional funding and that the district could reduce its portion to about $50,000 if other grants and pledges come through. The superintendent asked the board for direction; the board signaled support for moving forward with grant pursuit and community engagement.
