Council unanimously approves FY27 enterprise budgets, warns April 29 hearing on rates

By voice vote the Essex Junction City Council unanimously approved FY27 operating and capital enterprise budgets for water, wastewater, sanitation, stormwater and the EGRP program fund, and separately warned a public hearing for April 29, 2026 to set rates.
Council member Marcus moved that the City Council approve the FY27 enterprise fund operating and capital budgets for water, wastewater, sanitation, stormwater and the EGRP program fund; the motion was seconded and passed by unanimous voice vote. "I'm gonna move that the city council approve the f y 27 enterprise fund operating capital budgets for water, wastewater, sanitation, stormwater, and EGRP program fund as presented," Marcus said when he made the motion.
Marcus also moved that the council warn a public hearing on April 29, 2026 for FY27 rate setting for the water, wastewater, sanitation and stormwater funds; council separated the two motions and the warning passed unanimously. Chair called the consent agenda and council approved it unanimously before adjourning the meeting.
