Saint Clair County schedules Aug. 27 budget work session

County administrators told commissioners they will hold a combined work session, commission meeting and budget meeting on Aug. 27 to meet the statutory requirement to pass a balanced budget by Oct. 1; the commission voted to schedule the date.
The Saint Clair County Commission voted to schedule a budget work session and related meetings at the Chelsea Commission Chamber on Aug. 27 to follow the regular 9 a.m. work session and commission meeting. County administrator Tina Morgan told the commission, "That would be a work session, commission meeting, and then the day of the meeting."
The chair said the additional session will help staff meet the statutory requirement to adopt a balanced budget by Oct. 1 while preserving time for any last-minute adjustments. The motion to schedule the Aug. 27 meeting was moved, seconded and carried.
