The Monticello City Council voted unanimously on July 27 to approve a $628,100 contract with AE2S to provide Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration services for the Monticello Water Supply Treatment Plant. Public Works Director and City Engineer Matt Leonard told the Council AE2S is familiar with the city's systems and that the SCADA programming is a one-time construction cost.
Councilmember Charlotte Gabler made the motion to approve the contract and Councilmember Kip Christianson seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Leonard noted that while no monthly service fee is anticipated for the new integration, the City may continue to incur existing software and on-call support costs.
The contract authorization includes direction for the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement; staff said AE2S will integrate the new plant controls with the City's existing system as part of the construction closeout and commissioning process.
