The Douglas County Board approved an amendment to Conditional Use Permit #CU-000200 to permit two new 18,000-square-foot indoor storage buildings and to alter outdoor-storage locations on the DOB Properties LLC site in Carlos Township. The motion was made by Commissioner Tim Kalina and seconded by Commissioner Shane Schmidt; the vote was unanimous.
Approval carried three specific conditions: 1) outdoor storage area limited to 70,000 square feet with placement and relocation timing specified; 2) a 25-foot setback from adjacent property boundaries; and 3) screening requirements on the east and south sides using maintained vegetation or a single row of conifer trees with specified spacing and minimum planting height. The board minutes retain the condition text and note that conditions 3–7 of the original special use permit remain in effect.
