The Dana Point Planning Commission approved as part of its consent calendar a one-year extension for tentative tract map TTM 1697 and site development permit SDP 06-06. Staff said the commission previously acted on the project in April 2024 and that a new owner has taken over and may propose changes; staff recommended the maximum one-year extension.
Planning staff explained that the site-specific Planned Residential Development (PRD 28) and corresponding development standards would still govern the project and that substantial changes beyond minor edits would return to the commission for review. One commissioner asked whether significant changes would reopen the permit and staff confirmed the commission could see amendments depending on scope. The consent calendar motion carried with affirmative votes and no recorded opposition.
