Village approves first amendment to solar farm development agreement

The Village of New Milford board voted to approve Ordinance #2024-8, authorizing a first amendment to the development agreement for a proposed solar farm affecting parcels identified by PINs 15-25-400-004, 15-25-400-007 and part of 15-25-400-020. The motion was made by Deanna Rodgers and seconded by Wendy Roop and carried by voice vote with six ayes and no nays or abstentions.
The ordinance was presented during the public-business portion of the Oct. 8 meeting. Board members did not record roll-call debate on the merits during the meeting; the approval implements changes negotiated with the developer and moves the agreement forward for implementation. The president said the developer (Trajectory Energy) intends to hold a public meeting to inform the community about the solar project and to present the village with a $10,000 check before the committee meeting on Oct. 22.
"An ordinance authorizing the execution of a first amendment to the Development Agreement for the Village of New Milford, Illinois Pins 15-25-400-004, 15-25-400-007 and part of pin 15-25-400-020 (Solar Farm)," was recited as the motion.
Next steps noted in the meeting include the developer's planned community meeting; the board did not set additional conditions on the ordinance during the session.
