A public hearing on collective bargaining at Smith-Green Community Schools on Sept. 17, 2025, was called to order and then adjourned after no members of the public registered to speak, the Chair said.
The Chair announced the hearing at the Smith Green administration office and read the district mission statement before inviting testimony. The hearing notice referenced Indiana Code 20-29-6-1(a) and the board's policy 0167.3 as the governing authorities for public testimony and outlined the requirement that speakers register their intent on a sign-in sheet provided at the meeting.
When no speakers were listed on the sign-in sheet, the Chair waited briefly and then concluded the hearing. "this public hearing on collective bargaining is adjourned," the Chair said. The Chair recorded the time as about 3:40 p.m.
No formal motions or votes were taken on bargaining topics during the session, and no public testimony was received. The district did not announce any further dates or follow-up at the close of the hearing.
