A resident asked whether the county must approve annexations; staff replied, “We neither approve nor deny the annexations,” noting that Saint Clair had already voted to annex the property and the county was making that fact a matter of record for assessment and mapping.
The commission then moved on to other agenda items and carried the vote by voice; the action does not change land-use authority, which rests with the annexing municipality once filed.
