The commission approved a proposal brought forward by Captain Matt Morris to relocate a communications repeater from a water tank in Pell City to the county jail. Chair read the request and noted the cost of $7,945.81 and that it will require a budget amendment; the motion was moved, seconded and approved.
Commissioners thanked Captain Morris for the work and discussed timing; one commissioner asked how soon the installation could be finished and the record showed staff committed to expediting the work. The move is meant to improve radio coverage for public-safety communications in the county.
