The Concord Planning Board on July 28 continued the public hearing on a site plan for a proposed 16,000‑square‑foot Penn School athletic center at 516 Monument Street to its August 18 meeting. Applicant representatives, including Dave Platt of the Penn School and Brian DeGruy of Hancock Associates, presented revised plans and supporting materials and answered board questions about lighting, sight lines, a generator location and traffic management for events and school drop‑off/pick‑up.
Brian DeGruy told the board, “So, yes, we have submitted revised plans and supporting information, that hopefully answered all the questions that were raised at the last hearing.” Town staff said the files were submitted Wednesday and Thursday and staff and the town’s outside consultant had not finished their review; the planner recommended incorporating standard conditions (including a construction sequencing/safety plan and a 2,700 K lighting condition) into any draft decision and returning the draft decision to the board on Aug. 18 after the consultant’s revised comment letter. A board member moved to continue the public hearing to 7:05 p.m. on Aug. 18; the motion was seconded and the board agreed to continue.
