Committee recommends moving start times of regular sessions, other procedure tweaks

Commissioner Collins told the commission the committee voted to recommend moving the start times for regular sessions: the 1st Monday voting session and the 4th Monday work session would begin at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. "The proposed changes would be proposed to take effect September 1," Collins said.
Collins also summarized a recommended change to rule 12j to authorize the county mayor to approve budget amendments that move funds within the same fund account for non-salary and benefit lines, or to refer those amendments to the finance committee at the mayor's discretion. The committee said these and other corrections (grammar and clarity improvements throughout the rules of procedure) were intended to streamline operations and will be considered individually on the Aug. 17 agenda.
