Fort Myers honors students, nonprofits and receives annual Garden Council report

At its Feb. 17 meeting the Fort Myers City Council presented proclamations and recognitions and received an annual report from the Fort Myers Lee County Garden Council.
The council recognized Isabella Fowler of Dunbar High School and Naima Irving of Fort Myers High School as students of the month; both students offered brief remarks of thanks. The council also presented a proclamation to Saint Vincent de Paul Cares for its veteran homelessness work and proclaimed Feb. 20, 2026 as Government Communicators Day, accepted by the city's public information team. Susan Farrow, president of the Fort Myers Lee County Garden Council, delivered the organization's annual report describing membership (about 1,750 members), volunteer programs, educational activities, and recent recognition and partnerships for the Bern Davis Botanical Garden.
Council members thanked the presenters and encouraged community attendance at future garden events and volunteer opportunities.
