Council approves temporary repairs for Cemetery Hill potholes ahead of funerals

Trustee Karen Lichtsinn asked whose responsibility it was to maintain the road in front of Cemetery Hill because of a couple of bad potholes leading into the cemetery and noted several funerals were coming up that week. Maintenance Supervisor Travis Lustfield said that stretch is technically a state highway but that the city typically maintains that portion and proposed temporary repairs.
"Travis stated that he would either try to get the County’s Hot Box and throw some asphalt in to level it out or get some crushed concrete in those spots prior to the funerals as a temporary fix," the minutes state. Trustee Jon Olson moved and Trustee Rosie DeZeeuw seconded a motion to approve Travis working to fill the potholes; the motion carried.
