Council adopts land-use and PUD changes for Prince Street properties

The Fort Myers City Council voted Feb. 17 to adopt a map amendment (CPA24-011) and an ordinance approving the BNI expansion planned unit development for parcels at 2701–2735 Prince Street. City Attorney Grant Alley read the titles of both ordinances during the public-hearing session; staff and the applicant were present but no members of the public testified.
Planning Manager Nicole Devon stated there was no financial remuneration for testimony and staff did not require a presentation; the council had no ex parte disclosures to report for the items. Following a motion to approve and a second, the council voted with no opposition and the ordinances were adopted.
The approvals change a roughly 9.94-acre portion from residential medium density to industrial and authorize the PUD expansion. The items will take effect per the ordinances' effective dates and the city will proceed with any site-specific implementation steps in coordination with planning staff.
