Mayor Goldsmith provided a handout describing a three-phase plan for City Hall renovation and asked engineering firms to submit proposals that include three design options. Commissioner Arkebauer suggested price-range options of about $120,000, $100,000 and roughly $80,000; Commissioner Glenn said he had received a quote of $15,000–$20,000 for metal on the front and Tyler Johnson had quoted an estimated $30,000 for a proposed option.
Commissioner Morris said she did not want to see additional costs later, and Commissioner Arkebauer asked for renderings and submittals so the council can review options and consider community input on design choices. The council also discussed whether to include parking-lot resurfacing as a future budget item.
