Goldsmith said he has been in contact with local businesses so they can prepare for the event; the minutes noted the city may need to close Front Street from Spruce to Maple and possibly close Maple from Route 16 to the train tracks. The mayor said Union Pacific may block off track areas up to about 25 feet, but it was not yet certain whether the city would need to provide barricades. The council did not approve any special budget or permits at this meeting related to the event; planning and coordination actions were described as in preparation.
