Commissioner Glenn told the council the street department has been busy cleaning leaves and brush and installing services and said he would like the city to investigate buying a leaf vac and include it in the next budget. Visitor Steven Guinn commented, "they are not cheap, but it depends on what you’re looking at," underscoring cost concerns for such equipment.
Separately, the council identified several fire hydrants that need replacement; Commissioner Glenn said he would contact Chief Smalley to determine preferred locations. Commissioner Arkebauer reported that construction is ongoing at the wastewater plant and that the water department has completed hydrant flushing for the year and is changing out million-gallon meters.
