Nokomis council awards Lift Station Improvement contract to E. L. Pruitt

The Nokomis City Council voted to award the Lift Station Improvement Grant contract to contractor E. L. Pruitt after hearing a recommendation from the city’s engineering consultant.
Cameron Jones of Benton and Associates recommended the firm, saying, "he would recommend E. L Pruitt for the project, they came in with the lowest bid." Commissioner Glenn moved to award the contract; Commissioner Morris seconded and the motion carried with Commissioners Morris, Glenn, Arkebauer and Stauder voting yes. Mayor Goldsmith was absent.
Jones told the council the notice to proceed will be issued and he expects a preconstruction meeting in the coming week. The contract award follows the council’s prior approvals of project plans and grant funding associated with wastewater infrastructure improvements.
The council recorded no dissenting votes on the award. The city will schedule the preconstruction meeting and follow the grant’s procurement and reporting requirements.
