Klamath County approved a landowner agreement with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as a first step toward moving the Lake Emonos restoration project forward. Public‑works staff said Fish and Wildlife secured a bipartisan infrastructure law grant for more than $3 million to support the work.
The public‑works presenter said this landowner agreement is step one and that a subsequent project management agreement with Klamath Watershed Partnership is expected to make that organization the on‑the‑ground manager for the project. The agreement was moved, seconded and approved by the board; staff indicated there is no direct fiscal impact to the county from signing the landowner agreement itself.
