The Emmet County Board of Supervisors approved an increased hog head-count permit for New Fashion Pork Farm’s 168 Solberg site on July 28.
Supervisor John Pluth moved to approve the permit, which carried a scoring of 445; Vice-Chair Tim Schumacher seconded the motion. The board voted unanimously to grant the permit. The board clerk recorded that no public comments on the permit were received in the Emmet County Auditor’s Office prior to the vote.
The approval was part of a broader discussion of manure-management permits during the meeting; related permit action for a second New Fashion Pork site was taken later in the session.
