Trustees approve FEMA-backed repairs to ECD #61; Emmet County faces 15% share of unfunded costs

Dickinson County presented the project figures: ECD #61’s proposed cost is $1,196,225 with a proposed FEMA contribution of $1,000,811.25 and an unfunded assessment of $195,413.75; Branch 61’s proposed cost is $62,748 with FEMA funding of $51,273.70 and an unfunded assessment of $11,474.30. The transcript records that Emmet County’s portion is 15% of the unfunded FEMA total. Dickinson County moved to approve the projects and Clay County seconded; trustees from Emmet, Dickinson and Clay voted unanimously to proceed.
Bidders will be invited to submit proposals at a scheduled bid letting on Aug. 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. A bid-approval meeting is set for Sept. 1, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. via Zoom; Dickinson County will initiate the Zoom meeting and distribute links to involved counties. The board’s action authorizes the counties to move to formal bid steps rather than committing final local expenditures beyond the stated unfunded assessments.
