The district told board members the FieldTurf project will be paid from the 070 fund and carries a not-to-exceed cap read as $3,275,979.53 at the Aug. 7 meeting. Dr. Bridal and staff said they aim to raise about $675,000 in sponsorships (two sponsor logos on each field) to offset district expenditures.
Board members asked staff to clarify how the 5% contingency in the bid was calculated and requested a dollar figure for the civil portion that the contingency would cover. George asked, "The 5% contingency fee, what is that 5% of?" Jason replied, "It's 5% of 3,280,000. I believe that's how the formula was put in there." Staff committed to providing a specific calculation for the board.
