City announces summer events, library programs and CPR training ahead of State of the City

City staff used council communications to invite residents to a series of summer events and programs. Assistant City Manager Diana Garcia invited the public to the State of the City address on June 9 at the Courtyard Marriott and Library Manager Linda Vera outlined summer library programming (235 programs last month, 2,827 attendees), a teen writing series featuring C.B. Lee and a July veterans exhibition.
Deputy Chief Ryan Weddle announced a hands‑only CPR event Saturday 9 a.m.–12 p.m. on the City Hall lawn and recreation staff previewed the SGV Bridal Festival (June 6), MPK campout (June 13), pool schedules, and community trips. Staff encouraged residents to consult the city website and QR codes for details.
