The county attorney told the board a permanent fix would require amending the zoning ordinance, while a short‑term approach would be a resolution recorded in the minutes.
A member of the public, Latrese Brown, told the Commission she had applied and was willing to serve as a member. Commissioners said applications would remain on file and that vacating seats as terms end or resignations occur would reduce the board to five members over time. "Chairman Coffey was the tie breaker, and his vote is to approve," the minutes state.
The attorney recommended the ordinance amendment for a long‑term fix; the Commission adopted the short‑term measure and directed staff to preserve applications and post changes publicly.
