The Commission approved a recommendation from SOWEGA Engineering to award the Friendship Road resurfacing contract to Oxford Construction for $358,750. Bids were opened July 22; Oxford submitted the low bid of $358,750 and Robinson Paving submitted $389,118.85. Commissioner Damon Hoyte moved to award the contract to Oxford and Commissioner Timothy Biddle seconded; the vote was unanimous.
SOWEGA's recommendation letter (dated July 23, 2025) and the bid tabulation were entered in the record at the Aug. 5 meeting. County staff said the selection followed review for completeness and compliance; the county will proceed with contracting and project scheduling under the LMIG/local maintenance program.
