Event organizers Karen and Jim Tucker told the trustees they plan to hold a Floral Hall community event on Sunday, May 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., serving pulled pork, hot dogs, coleslaw and drinks, and hosting a bake sale and a craft/flea market. The Tuckers asked the board to close Bruner Street to Center Street during the event; President Ron Brown approved the street closure during the meeting.
The Tuckers said they would hold a follow-up planning meeting on April 3 and Clerk Melody Hall said she would work to secure participants for the craft and flea market. The board did not attach special conditions to the approval beyond the usual event logistics.
