President asks clerk to notify property owner after flat tire; trustees consider condemnation for burned lot

During public comment President Ron Brown said he ran over debris while plowing the alley behind the post office and sustained a flat tire. He asked Clerk Melody Hall to check the property easement and send a letter to the owner requesting cleanup. Clerk Hall said she would check the easement and send the owner a notice; she also said she could send the letter certified if necessary.
Trustee Diane Brown asked whether the village had heard from the owner of a burned property; Clerk Hall said she had not received a response to an earlier email-requested reply and could send a certified letter. Trustees discussed waiting another month before pursuing further steps and asked staff to investigate whether condemnation is an option under village authority.
