Public works director highlights Ecology award for wastewater plant, gives SR20 project update

Director Denham told the council that the Department of Ecology has announced awards for outstanding wastewater treatment performance and that Twisp's plant received the recognition again — the eighth award in the past 10 years.
Denham credited public works staff for maintaining a high standard despite concurrent construction work: "There are close to 10,000 ways to not get a perfect score and one single error will keep you from getting the award," he said, and gave staff direct praise for their diligence. He also said a fourth meeting on the SR20 project was scheduled for the next day and that light poles are being installed along the corridor with some remaining cleanup work.
Denham noted that staff are a bit behind on other projects because of larger concurrent efforts but expected to catch up before the season ends. The council did not record additional direction beyond staff continuing coordination on the SR20 project and routine operations for wastewater management.
