Trustees report on paving, lighting upgrades and a property title search; AirBnB application withdrawn

Trustees and department heads provided several operational updates at the Aug. 13 meeting. Trustee Wise reported that Valley Drive paving is underway and said an RFP for parking-lot repaving projects will publish Thursday, Aug. 15; the village is also soliciting snow-plowing quotes and has sufficient road salt. Trustee Wallace said the village is pursuing a no-cost lighting upgrade at Village Hall and elsewhere through ComEd.
Attorney Lisa Waggoner reported she ordered a title search for 5311 Greenview; President Rider summarized the long process the village followed to obtain the property. Chief Danny Rains said he is starting a "Coffee with the Chief" outreach program. Building Director Mike Flannigan told the board the AirBnB application has been withdrawn. Trustees also noted the success of National Night Out and welcomed Officer Quandee.
