Town approved $9,000 ATAX allocation to share Placer.ai license with Chamber

Assistant Town Administrator Dee Stalvey asked the board April 30 to approve $9,000 in ATAX funds for a shared Placer.ai license so Town staff and the Chamber can use location-intelligence and foot-traffic data for grant applications and planning.
Stalvey said the Town, in partnership with the Chamber, is requesting the license to leverage visitor insights and mobility data. Chair Mike Hobson moved to approve $9,000; Emma Hart seconded. The motion passed with three in favor (Judy Blancett, Emma Hart, Mike Hobson), one opposed (Marie Bost) and one abstention (Richard Howse).
The funding is intended to provide shared access for two entities and to support grant-writing and operational planning. The board asked staff to coordinate implementation and access arrangements between the Town and the Chamber.
