The Alto City Council voted March 23 to appoint Forest Phifer as Alto's municipal judge. Councilman Elpressely Thacker moved to appoint Phifer, Councilwoman Grimes seconded, and the motion carried with a recorded vote of Ayes 3, Nays 0, Abstains 0.
City Secretary April Warren administered the oath of office to Judge Forest Phifer and to Court Administrator Angela Denson at the meeting; the minutes state that no further council action was required for the swearing-in.
