Board approves small-setback variances for porch, steps and storage at Old Sanders Drive

Daniel Spence, who said he purchased a moved house and completed a permitted addition, explained some measurements were misplaced in the permit process and that the porch corner now measures 38.5 feet from the required 40-foot setback. He told the board the storage building is roughly 10.4 by 20 feet and that the steps could be moved if the board wanted that change.
Board members discussed whether the steps could be relocated and noted the shed and porch encroachments were small. The board voted separately to approve the porch setback, the steps setback and the storage building setback, with standard staff conditions for site plans and planting as required.
