Houston said the association fields about five teams for grades 4–8 and that last season 53 athletes were enrolled. “Specifically, we're asking for priority scheduling for our athletes to have practice at Fidalgo Elementary, Monday through Bridal, between 5 and 8,” she said, adding that current bookings leave just one hour for five teams on multiple weeknights, forcing several teams to cram into a single gym. Houston said the group will continue conversations with the school district and parks staff to seek a scheduling solution.
