Alto ISD superintendent thanks community for National Night Out; Veterans Day program announced

Mayor Pro Tem Carey Palmer called the City of Alto council to order Monday evening and the meeting opened with brief public remarks and recognitions.
Alto ISD Superintendent Derek Connley expressed appreciation for community groups and vendors who helped stage the Alto Police Department’s first National Night Out, listing collaborators including Alto Medical Clinic, Issacs Wrecker Service, Alto Housing Authority, Alto ISD cheerleaders, Alto Booster Club, Rise Up Coffee House, Hiltop Baptist, lan Chandler and the Alto Volunteer Fire Department. Connley also announced a Veterans Day program at Alto ISD set for Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 9:30 a.m. No formal action was required for the presentation.
The recognition places the school district and public-safety partners at the center of recent community outreach. The council then proceeded to routine business items including votes on board ballots and street closures.
