Council moves food-truck pilot to ongoing program after successful trial

County Attorney Mister Hodge briefed the council on a pilot program that began with a December resolution allowing food trucks on county property for employee convenience. After internal review, rule-setting and coordination with Conway, Hodge said about 20 vendors have been approved or are in process and staff recommends making the program ongoing.
"All the feedback that we've gotten from both the vendors and the employees has been extremely positive," Hodge said, describing insurance, site layout and intergovernmental coordination needed to stand up the program. He asked the council to move the pilot to a continuing program. The council moved, seconded, and approved the resolution by voice vote.
Hodge said the program required staff time to develop rules and that the county will monitor vendor approvals; no additional funding or ongoing subsidies were mentioned.
