Horry County wellness team reports ranking in Healthiest Employers program; SpringWell explains scoring

A county wellness committee representative (Speaker 6) updated the council on employee health programs and said participation has increased in recent years. The representative said the county placed 12th in South Carolina in the Healthiest Employers ranking and that county employees appreciated the programs and events.
Haley Elmer, healthiest employers program coordinator at SpringWell, described the program's assessment method: a 1-to-100 scoring system across six categories using yes/no, multiple-choice and short-answer questions. "Our assessment, scoring breakdown, and benchmarking tools were created with the help of a non biased group of individuals from academic, medical, clinical, and human resources industries," Elmer said, outlining how the HEI (health-based employer index) groups applicants by size for benchmarking.
County representatives thanked the presenters and the council acknowledged employee wellness efforts; no vote was required.
