At the Jan. 26 called meeting, Chairman Charles Coffey read the qualifying-fee schedule required under state law and Commissioner Jason Frost moved to approve it. The commission approved a $362 qualifying fee for county commission candidates and a $72 fee for county board of education candidates and set the qualifying window from 9 a.m. March 2 to noon March 6, 2026.
The approval was made under the authority of O.C.G.A. § 21-2-131; the commission adopted a resolution to publish the fee schedule no later than Feb. 1, 2026, as required by state statute. The county clerk was directed to publish the list of fees in accordance with the statute.
